I trust that you are having amazing success, and I’m very proud of your commitment.
What does success mean?
A wonderful friend, who is actually part of my weight loss program, shared that success is simple steps taken towards your goal. So often though, we are very hard on ourselves because we haven’t gotten to the top of the mountain.
How do we get to the top? One step at a time.
We must reward ourselves periodically and be grateful that we are taking those steps… even when we believe we are off track. Self-sabotage, which is only our EGO, can be very destructive. It says “See, you were off track. I knew you couldn’t do it. Who do you think you are. You’re never going to achieve success.”
Remember, EGO stands for Edging God Out. With this said, it reminds us that we need to check our connection to God, clean it off and plug it back in.
Recently, I encountered my own EGO when I believed I was off track in my business. Thus, I did some work on forgiving myself. This was very soothing to my soul. What emerged from that was a refocus on my purpose, my commitment to God. Seek forgiveness for your perceived imperfections.
We are always right where we need to be, and what is so incredible is that God is right here all the time loving us no matter what. It’s when we believe that we are separate from God that the EGO is allowed to take over.
Wayne Dyer says that there is no such thing as an egoectomy, but right now let’s do something that will give us the same results without the surgery. We want to ensure our connection to God is clear, and the only way to do this is to get rid of the EGO.
Here we go:
_______________________(fill in your name), I forgive you for ___________________.
Repeat this for all the things in which you need to forgive yourself.
Then take your right hand and make a fist. Put it over your heart and in a clockwise circular motion, repeat I love you, I love you, I love you. Do this 10 times.
The EGO is removed and surgery is a success! Didn’t that feel great?
You are committed to your weight loss/healthy lifestyle goals. Periodically check your connection to God and ensure that it’s glowing.
I’m proud of you. Keep up the good work and be easy on yourself.
Love and hugs,
Tami

Is variety the spice of a dieter’s life? Maybe not. A new dieting concept soon to be released calls for less variety in your daily diet. By eating less variety in one meal, your brain receives the “I’m full” signal from your stomach faster. The result: you eat less at each meal.
The diet has not been released as of today. Out of respect for the authors, I simply want to voice two concerns about it, both of which, I am confident, the authors will address.
For this article, the diet in question will be referred to as the “Less Variety Diet.”
From a professional perspective, this sounds good. Research from the past and a few current studies do show that subjects eating meals with less variety, become full faster and eat less. Eating less does translate into weight loss, over time.
And here’s the first snag: Over Time.
If the authors mean “over time” to describe two to three weeks, than yes, you’ll lose weight. However, your brain is smart. The question left unanswered is, “Does your brain soon compensate for the less colorful meals and switch back to the slower “I’m full” signal?
In my experience, quick changes in body physiology, as proposed by the less variety diet, results in quick counter-changes by the body parts involved. It makes sense to me that the Less Variety Diet will last, and you’ll revert back to eating more of the less palatible meals.
This idea of a quick change for a quick counter-change, brings up a second possible snag. Your body doesn’t like it when you eat fewer calories.
Regardless of the means to eating fewer calories, your body’s response will be to slow down your metabolism. Unless there’s more to the Less Variety Diet, like exercise and resistance training, weight lost is weight “regained.”
Overall, the Less Variety Diet is scientifically sound, at least in the short run. Questions remain as you follow this new concept into week three, week four, and so on. I’ll hold my final verdict for now, but I will look for the authors to “unsnag” the snags in more detail, soon.

If you’re a smoker, you should know that smoking has many effects on you. Some of them are reversible, while some aren’t. Some are long term effects and some are on short term.
On of the main damage caused by smoking is to cancel the arteries ability to expand. The repercussions are multiple. Recently, a study targeting the condition of 8,000 Australian smokers has concluded that almost one in 10 subjects experienced erectile problems.
The theory is that the toxins released in cigarette smoke, carbon monoxide mainly, are absorbed in the blood. They can damage vessels and cause the reducing of blood flow in your arteries. Maintaining an erection requires a surge of blood to the penis. If they are healthy, arteries get larger to allow the increased flow. But arteries damaged by cigarette smoking cannot expand as much, causing an inadequate erection. Other damages coming over the time, such as arteries clogging, can aggravate the condition by altering the trapping process of blood within the penis. The result will be the undesirable impotence.
Smoking may cause temporary or permanent impotence. If you are young and quit smoking, impotence is likely mostly reversible. When you quit do not expect an immediate improvement. Keep in mind that you can see the benefits of this quitting smoking after a few weeks.
I think that a final note is necessary. Just because you smoke and have erectile problems doesn’t mean for sure that they are caused by smoking. Your best choice to clarify your situation is to quit as soon as possible. If that doesn’t work, go to your physician and have an open discussion.

For those of us who are looking for quick weight loss, Halloween
can be a scary experience! While just one night of indulgence in
Halloween candy might not be enough to break your belt, dipping
into the leftover stockpile for weeks on end will surely derail
your diet or weight loss program.
In 1921, in Anoka, MN, the United States enjoyed our first
recorded instance of a Halloween celebration. Annual candy
consumption has climbed almost unabated since then. According to
the Census Bureau, Americans eat nearly a half-pound of candy
each week for an average of 25 pounds of candy a year. Candy is
big business, with the United States boasting 1,040
manufacturing establishments producing chocolate and cocoa
products in 2001. These establishments employed 45,913 people
and shipped $12 billion worth of goods that year. Another 616
U.S. establishments manufactured non-chocolate confectionery
products in 2001. These establishments employed 26,400 people
and shipped $7 billion worth of goods that year (source:
census.gov).
The overwhelming popularity of the South Beach Diet, Zone Diet,
and Atkins Diet has prompted low-carb weight watchers to eat
less candy. Overall consumption has actually declined over the
last few years; as recently as 1997 the average annual candy
consumption was a sky-high 27 pounds.
-> The Problem: Most people on a diet plan or weight control
program look at candy as little brightly-colored fat bombs. That
assessment isn’t far off the mark, either, with most candy
packing little nutritional value and a ton of calories.
Some of the more popular Halloween candy has too many calories
to be included in any healthy diet: * Twizzlers 1 treat size
pkg.= 45 calories * Almond Joy 1 snack size bar = 90 calories *
Milk Duds 1 treat size box = 40 calories * Butterfinger 1 snack
size bar = 100 calories * Milky Way 1 snack size bar = 90
calories * SweetTarts 1 treat size pkg. = 50 calories * 1
Tootsie Pop 1 pop = 60 calories * 1 Tootsie Roll 1 small roll =
13 calories
Note: Calorie content is based on 1 serving of Halloween ’snack’
or ‘fun’ size packages, not full size servings found in the
candy aisle.
While just a few pieces of Halloween candy won’t obliterate your
diet program or weight loss plan, it’s the temptation to keep
having ‘just one more’ that will pack on the pounds. It only
takes nine small fun-size candy bars to put on a quarter-pound
of fat. Besides candy, Halloween threatens many other
high-calorie treats like Caramel apples (243 calories), 8-oz.
apple cider and a cake donut (319 calories), or a slice of
pumpkin pie (240 calories).
-> The Solution: Is it possible to cope with the menace of
Halloween candy without taking all the fun out of the holiday?
Absolutely! If you’re looking for fast weight loss, and don’t
want Halloween to bring your fat loss to a screeching halt,
consider these healthy Halloween tips:
1. Walk with your kids while they’re trick-or-treating. A
165-lb. woman strolling along (walking slowly) for one hour will
burn approximately 150 calories (source: caloriesperhour.com).
2. Out of sight, out of mind. When the kids have unloaded their
stash, store it in an airtight container and put it in the
cupboard. A bowl full of candy on the counter is an open
invitation to have ‘just one’, but a stockpile you can’t see is
less tempting.
3. If you’re going to give out candy to trick-or-treaters on
Halloween, don’t buy it until October 31st. Having a candy
supply in the house before Halloween only entices you to have
some early.
4. If you must buy candy before Halloween, buy a kind you don’t
like. Again, this will reduce the temptation for you to dig in.
5. Hosting a Halloween party? Supply vegetables, healthy dips,
and low fat snacking alternatives instead of candy.
6. Set a Halloween candy deadline by which all Halloween candy
must be either consumed (by the kids) or it will be thrown away.
Saving that candy for weeks, or even months, only keeps
temptation in the house.
7. Put more emphasis on dressing up in a great costume, and less
on candy. This is especially true for the kids, who often view
Halloween as a candy free-for-all dream come true.
8. By hosting a party on Halloween night, you can control the
menu and have fun with friends at the same time.
9. Focus on Halloween activities other than eating. There are
lots of options available, from hayrides to haunted houses to
bonfires.
10. Candy has a long shelf life, and there’s no reason why you
couldn’t put some of it in airtight bags and store it in the
freezer. Allow the kids to take out one bag every two weeks
until it’s gone. This tactic will at least space out the
temptation and minimize candy binge eating.
Of course, the absolute best way to avoid weight gain, and
perhaps even achieve some easy weight loss, during the Halloween
season is to bump up the amount of exercise you’re getting.
There’s no better way to lose weight fast than a healthy diet
and regular exercise.
Make sure the workout you’re doing includes both aerobic and
resistance training, as it is critical to get both types of
exercise to maximize weight loss. It’s also important to
exercise for at least thirty minutes, three times per week,
which is the most recent recommendation by the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (source: cdc.gov).
A fantastic strategy is to find the best weight loss program for
you now, before Halloween hits. The reason is that the last
three months of the year are packed with holidays, special
dinners and seasonal treats. Starting with Halloween candy and
ending with Christmas fudge, many people find that they’re
packing on more pounds during this period than they do any other
time of year.
Joining a gym is an excellent way to combat Halloween and
holiday weight gain. Finding a good gym to join now will not
only help keep off those holiday pounds, but will even make you
slimmer by New Years.

It might be surprising for a person to realize the importance of spending money in obtaining a medical billing degree or a medical coding certificate program. This is because ads inform them that a lot of money can be earned, even without experience, working as a medical billing specialist from their home.
Unfortunately, nearly all of these “business opportunities” are only scams. Medical billing is a skilled profession, and you’ ll need to possess the following in order to succeed in this field:
• ability to fill out several types of complicated insurance claim forms
• knowledge of insurance guidelines, procedures and claims submission process
• capability to analyze Explanation of Benefits (EOB) forms to guarantee that insurance companies have properly assessed and paid for charges
• ability to follow up with insurance companies and patients to make certain that bills are paid in a timely manner
• ability to produce accounts receivable reports for clients.
Consider enrolling in a training program in medical billing and coding to help your chances in landing a job in this field. It’ s common for schools to combine both skill sets in one training program, given that medical coding is in essence the foundation of the billing process.
